John Coltrane/Rashid Ali, Evan Parker/Paul Lytton, Sidney Bechet/Kenny Clarke, Peter Brotzmann/Han Bennink, Michel Portal/Bernard Lubat, Archie Shepp/Max Roach, Dewey Redman/Ed Blackwell... the saxophone/drums dialogue has travel thru Jazz History as a rare but quintessential formula : a conversation associating the two instruments revealed by Jazz (the saxophone, used in a minor way in Western music, could have well been forgotten as well as ophicleide without the Jazzers).
