Huby / Cartwright
Régis Huby dislikes boundaries. He is just as happy to work traditional with musicians, as he is to work with musicians from a rock background or from the (so called) contemporary music school. Many different encounters have traced his musical path, most notably : Alain Savouret, Louis Sclavis, Dominique Pifarély, Alain Gibert, Noël Akchoté, Vincent Courtois, François Merville, Denis Colin, Christophe Marguet, Laurent Dehors, François Raulin.
Above all he is concerned with improvisation and is ever, on the look-out for fertile breeding grounds for new forms and contents, and is always mindful of the process of creation and the different people who take part in it. For his Minnesota premiere, he will meet saxophonist George Cartwright.
Before being a Minnesotan, George Cartwright was in the Mississippi Delta experiencing the blues. He worked with Ornette Coleman and spent time in Woodstock at the Creative Music studio before creating the incredible group Curlew.
