Happy Apple / Benoit Delbecq

Both Happy Apple and pianist Benoit Delbecq have met several times in Paris but this will be their first time playing together. The musical world of the pianist, one of the most original of its generation, is made from influences coming from Africa - pygmy music - and contemporary composers such as Lygeti or John Cage. His playing, using prepared piano, is a subtle melodic mix of colors and percussion sounds on which the joyful and energetic music of Happy Apple, "unquestionably one of the very best new jazz groups" to quote New-York Times' Ben Ratliff, will surely find a rich playground good for new emotional adventures, one of their trademarks.
